Jan Reimer School to temporarily host Minchau School students

Due to flooding at Minchau School, we will be welcoming their staff and students starting January 8, 2018. Read more below about how we’ll welcome Minchau School.

Over the winter break, several schools across the city experienced flooding due to the cold weather. Minchau School had significant flooding, and students will not be able to return to classes at the school on Monday.

Since our school already hosted Shauna May Seneca School this year, we have spaces set up and ready to go. Students and staff from Minchau School will be temporarily relocated to Jan Reimer School while their school is cleaned and repaired. It is too early to say how long students will be temporarily relocated at our school—damage is still being assessed.

After sharing our school with our friends from Shauna May Seneca School during the first part of the year, I know what great hosts we can be. I have no doubt we will also make the Minchau students and staff feel especially welcome.

We will share more information when it is available. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our school.

Welcome

Welcome to Jan Reimer School, opened September 2017. Jan Reimer School will provide programming for students in Kindergarten to Grade 9 who live in Summerside South, Summerside West and The Orchards North. Commited to honouring our namesake, Jan Reimer School will be an inclusive, caring environment where students learn the value of contributing to their community.

SOCKTOBER

Dear Families of Jan Reimer and Shauna May Seneca,

We are participating in a whole school activity called SOCKTOBER. All we need is a NEW pair of socks to make lives better for some people who cannot afford to buy their own. The donations are going to be given to the Hope Mission here in Edmonton. When students bring in their NEW socks they can be put in a box that will be in front of the learning common.

With the cold months ahead we are sure our donations will be very appreciated. You can donate for the entire month of October. We are excited to see the box fill up!

Thanks for your support!

Sincerely the Learning to Lead classes
